Where do you live ?

Where do you live ?

This question is not about your home or place of residence but rather seeks to dig into your mindset and in turn how your mindset sets the stage and utlimately drives your behaviour.

I was introduced to a very interesting concept yesterday that provides some wonderful insight into the world that we all live in and how we choose to see ourselves and better understand those around us.     The concept was introduced by Dan Sullivan of  Strategic Coach ® and is defined as “The 10x Matrix”.     The concept is simple yet very powerful and contrasts people that live in a worldview of scarcity, characterized by resentfulness with those that choose to live in a world of abundance which drives the behavioural trait of resourcefulness.  Dan works with very successful entrepeneurs all of which are seeking to multiply their respective worlds 10X and it is wihtin this context that Dan has developed and shared his theory.

As an entrepreneur, an employer, a parent and a spouse where I live is a function of my upbringing, current and past environment and choices that I have made from experiences that I have had.   As a student of the Strategic Coach ® program for the past three years, I have become introduced to and become a quick study on a variety of awesome tools that support my confidence and mindset, further entrenching my ideas on the foundation of abundance.    This foundation drives my behavior and ultimately that of our business and impacts who works with us from both the client and employee perspectives.

The concept of where you choose to live is fascinating to me as it impacts who I choose to spend time with including family, friends, colleagues, clients and employees.   Our business continues to evolve in a world of abundance.    Everything around us is getting bigger and better and the resources that are available today enable us to do it bigger, better, faster and cheaper.

In developing and studying this concept for the past sixty years, Dan has identified some key variables that define the behavior of being resourceful.    These behaviors include increased levels of excitement, skill and results that come from the unforeseen combination of individual capabilities to create even bigger resources and opportunities for others.

My next conversation will dig a little deeper into some of the specific behaviours that guide me and our organization.   As I explore this concept  a little deeper,  I hope to share some specifics on how we at AEC are viewing the world of abundance and in turn get you to check-in and ask yourself how you see the world and where you choose to live…are you in a state where your future survival is in question as the resources required to progress are being depleted or conversely, are the things that really matter getting bigger and better as a result of new found capabilities that make things bigger, better, faster and cheaper ?
